Raymond M. Weaver

Raymond M. Weaver, 80, of 1943 Little Conestoga Rd., Elverson, died Friday, May 15, 2015 at Fairmount Homes. His wife of 59 years, Alta M. (Nolt) Weaver, survives.

Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late George and Lydia (Martin) Weaver.

Raymond was a retired farmer and a member of Honey Brook Mennonite Church where he served as a deacon since August, 1975.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Lucille married to David Burkholder, Benton, IL, Wilmer married to Sylvia Weaver, Elverson, Leonard married to Sarah Weaver, Ewing, IL, and Vernon married to Doris Weaver, Elverson; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and seven siblings: Lester married to Anna Weaver, Quarryville, Anna Martin, Ephrata, Irene Weaver, New Holland, Martin married to Rachel Weaver, Downingtown, George, Jr. married to Joann Weaver, New Holland, Clarence married to Arlene Weaver, FL, and Mervin married to Lucinda Weaver, Orchardville, IL.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Gage.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Honey Brook Mennonite Church with Bishop Harold Good, Elmer Martin, Mark Hostetter, Nathan Sweigart and Duane Martin officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday from 1 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
