Richard A. Boone

Richard A. “Rick” Boone, 65, of New Holland, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John A. and Heidi C. (Abicht) Boone. He was married 29 years on Nov. 29 to Lucinda (McLaughlin) Boone.

Rick retired from Zook Molasses Company in Honey Brook after working more than 40 years in Human Resources at various locations, including 20 plus years at Rutt Custom Cabinetry.

Rick enjoyed working outside in his yard, skiing, bicycling, scuba diving, and was an exercise enthusiast. He was a member of New Holland United Methodist Church, Lancaster Scuba Diving Club, Lancaster Bicycle Club, and Lancaster Ski Club. He was also a former board member of Elanco Social Services Network. His daughter meant the world to him. He was extremely proud of her; no more so than in her most recent accomplishments.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Taylor Nicole Boone of Lancaster; a brother, Michael (Tamea) Boone of Virginia; a nephew, Shawn Boone of South Carolina; a niece Tauna Rankin of Virginia; and his parents-in-law, Margie and Dick Richards of Paradise, and John and Sylvia McLaughlin of Stillwater.
