Richard A. Bortz, 79, of 952 Suplee Road, Honey Brook, died Tuesday evening at his home after lengthy illness.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Kissinger) Bortz. His wife, Margaret (West) Bortrz, died July 20, 2006.
Richard worked as a truck driver for many years with Dietrich’s Seafood in Reading and later for 10 years for Baldwin Brass in Reading.
Surviving are two sons, Richard and David Bortz both of Reading; two daughters, Joanna Fasig of Mohnton, and Susan Mays of Honey Brook; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers, Lester of Stony Creek, and Harry of Reading; and a sister, Mary Bortz of Reading.
Preceding him in death are three brothers, Billy, Charlie, and Ronnie; and four sisters, Patsy, Betty, Juney, and Dolly.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 16 at 7 pm at the New Holland Church of the Nazarene, 428 Ranck Road, New Holland with the Reverend Darin Parry officiating.
