Richard W. Fox, 88, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. Richard was born in New Holland, to his late parents, Willis E. and Vera (Wise) Fox. He and his beloved spouse, A. Fay (Weaver) Fox, celebrated 68 years of marriage this past November.
Richard was a dairy farmer and a seeds salesman. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. In his spare time, he liked to bird watch, build bird houses, drive his golf cart, garden, and in his younger years, hunt turkey. He and Fay were members of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, a community where they worshiped, found support and comfort.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children, Brenda M. Stauffer and her husband Tim, of Ephrata, Robert “Bob” D. Fox and his wife Ruthie (Eberly), of Lititz, Kathy Martin and her husband Cliff, of New Holland, Julie Zimmerman and her husband Dennis, of Denver, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. In addition, Richard is also survived by his siblings, Willis W. Fox and his wife Rose, of New Holland and Janet Hartranft and her husband John, of Nokomis, FL.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by a son, Marvin L. Fox, and his siblings, Mary Jane Fox, Anna Zook, Ella Newswanger, Sarah Zimmerman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, beginning at 4:30 PM at Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl. The family will greet friends and guests beginning at 3:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be held privately in Weaverland Cemetery prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Rd, East Earl, PA 17519, or Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheat Ridge Dr, Ephrata, PA 17522.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
