Richard L. Strothers

Richard L. Strothers, 87, of Ephrata, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Altoona, to his late parents, Abner L. and Ruth (Bohn) Strothers. His loving wife of 69 years, Naomi F. (Brubaker) Strothers, survives at home.

Richard was a hard worker and a great provider for his family, which he loved deeply. He was a long-time resident of Terre Hill, where he served on the borough council, playground committee, and was a member of the former Terre Hill Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children, Donna Baxter (Mark), Susan DeHart (David), and daughter-in-law Lori Strothers. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristina Weaver, Derek Usner, Kelly Quinn, Lindsey Sauder, Tyler Strothers, Kayla Bowers, and six great grandchildren. In addition, Richard is survived by his siblings, Barbara Fegley (Lynwood), Donald Strothers (Roberta), and James Strothers (Carol).

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his children, Deborah F. Usner, Richard Keith Strothers, and Kathleen S. Strothers and his sister, Betty Lou Burkholder.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at C. Stanley Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 East Main Street, Terre Hill, with Lindsey Sauder officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will occur immediately following the funeral in Terre Hill Cemetery.
