Richard W. Reed, 68, of East Earl, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center in Lancaster after a brief illness.
Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of Norma F. (Brenneman) Reed of East Earl and the late Martin L. Reed.
Richard was a long time employee at the former Victor F. Weaver Poultry in New Holland (now Tyson) and was most recently employed as a cart retriever for Shady Maple Market for 13 years.
He was a member of Honey Brook Mennonite Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are four brothers, Robert of Narvon, Larry of Homestead, FL, Keith of Leola, and Donald of Narvon; and three sisters, Betty Myer of Quarryville, Erma Allgyer of Terre Hill, and Patricia Martin of Rochester, WA.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Wilmer Reed.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2 at 10 am at the Honey Brook Mennonite Church, 678 Reservoir Road, Honey Brook with the Bishop Wilmer Weaver, and Ministers David Martin, Nathan Sweigart, and Mark Hostetter officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Church on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
