Rita Colella

Rita Colella, 93, of New Holland, formerly of Downingtown, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Ephrata Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Colella in 1983.

Born in Frazer, she was the daughter of Pario and Mary (Polumbo) Volpe.

Rita retired in 1982 after 30 years with Pepperidge Farm.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking.

She is the last of her family. Surviving is a companion, Wayne R. Barrows of Myerstown along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Michael and Miller Volpe; and a sister, Pauline Volpe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 23 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland, PA 17557 with the Reverend Fr. Pang J.S. Tcheou officiating. Entombment will be in the St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester. Viewing will be held at the Church on Monday from 10-11 am.
