Robert E. Cover

Robert E. Cover, 81, of 455 Spring Grove Rd., East Earl, died Saturday, March 9 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean H. (Weber) Cover in 2004.


Born in Elizabethtown, he was the son of the lat William and Amanda (Smith) Cover but was lovingly raised as a foster child of Bart and Sue Taylor and their daughter Fannie.


Bob was in the construction trade, being self-employed since 1978 and was a member of St. John’s Center United Church of Christ.


Surviving are four children: Ronald married to Lynn Cover, Sinking Spring; Jane married to Mike Ansel, Denver; Darla Schumacher, Lititz; and Scott Cover and his long-time companion, Diane Fichthorn, Ephrata; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was privileged to have a special relationship with Wanda Rutt for the last several years.


His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill with Pastor Brad Haws officiating. Interment will be in Bowmansville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Eckenroth’s on Saturday from 9 – 10 a.m. If desired, memorials may be sent to St. John’s Center U. C.
