Robert F. Weaver

Robert F. Weaver, 93, of Garden Spot Village, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Kathryn (Peck) Weaver, with whom he shared over 69 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Alvin and Ethel (Weaver) Weaver.

Robert served in the United States Air force during WWII as a B24 bomber pilot. He later went on to graduate from the Life Insurance Marketing Institute at Purdue University and to receive his CLU degree from American College. He worked as a life insurance agent for both the Provident Mutual Insurance Company of Philadelphia and Nationwide Life Insurance Company for over 50 years.

Robert was a member of the Garden Spot Village Community Church and a past President and former member of the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council. Robert was imbued with an entrepreneurial spirit that was displayed in many and various projects throughout his life time. In his spare time, he enjoyed volunteering in various organizations, playing bridge, reading, and writing his life stories. His greatest concern in his life was taking care of his family.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two children: Robert F. Weaver, Jr., husband of Mary, of Lancaster, and Barbara A. Wright of New London; a grandson, Ryan F. Weaver of China; and a granddaughter, Claire E. Weaver of New York.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Ethel Poovey.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 South Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, PA 17557 with Pastor Chet Yoder officiating. Interment will be held privately by the family at Caernarvon Cemetery, Morgantown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, address above, or to a charity of choice.
