Robert W. Hoffman, Sr., 222 Morview Blvd., Morgantown, died Monday, December 26, 2011 after a brief illness at the Reading Hospital. Born in Morgantown, he was the son of Earl and Fern (Geisler) Hoffman. He was married 27 years on July 14 to Mary (Good) Hoffman. Robert retired in 2007 as a steel cutter for Bannon Metals in Honey Brook. He was a member of the Elverson Rod and Gun Club, the North American Hunting Club, and the North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed model railroading and raising animals. During the Vietnam Era he served his country in the US Army. Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Crystal, married to Jason Chiarelli of Sinking Spring, Beverly Hoffman and Robert Hoffman, Jr., both at home, and Diana Hoffman of Reading; a grandson, Jaydin Chiarelli; and six brothers and sisters, Garfield, married to Anna May Hoffman of Elverson, Jackie King of Bowmansville, Amandus, married to Gloria (Reinhart) Hoffman of Mohnton, Leroy Hoffman of Lititz, Fay Perry of Bowmansville, and Caroline Reinhart of Denver. Preceding him in death are four brothers and sisters, Gloria Sperber, Bruce Hoffman, Bonnie Hoffman, and Kalen Hoffman. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 30 at 10 am at the Caernarvon Cemetery in Morgantown with the Reverend Merle Stoltzfus officiating.
