Robert C. Hostetter, Sr., 77, of Denver went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Reading Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Strasburg, he was the son of the late A. Clyde and Lily M. (McMichael) Hostetter.
He is survived by Viola M. (Good) Hostetter, his loving wife of 56 years; four children: Dennis R. husband of Louise (Mast) Hostetter, Stevens; Leonard D. husband of Christina (Nguyen) Hostetter, Terre Hill; Fay E. wife of Daryl L. Kreider, Lititz, and Robert C., Jr. husband of Tracy (Fox) Hostetter, Denver; seven grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and a brother J. Paul married to Viola (Graver) Hostetter, New Holland.
Robert worked in plumbing and heating for C. M. Good and Son, Inc. and also for the former Weaver & Witwer Co. in his earlier years before working the majority of his years in the family business of Dennis’ Ice Service, Inc. until his recent illness. He loved working in the family business with his sons and his interests were traveling, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church.
His funeral will be held on Friday, July 19 at 2 p.m. at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Rd., East Earl with Pastor Larry Weber officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. and on Friday from 1 – 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, P. O. Box 500, Akron, PA 17501. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements. Online remembrances and condolences may be posted at www.groffeckenroth.com.
