Robert M. Hurst

Robert M. Hurst, 80, of Churchtown, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at his residence after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Sandra M. (Schaeffer) Hurst, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Irwin B. and Virginia (Houck) Hurst.

Robert proudly served in the United States Navy. He later earned his PhD from the University of Oregon and worked as a psychologist. He had a passion for traveling and enjoyed reading, current events, and both playing and listening to music.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by 3 daughters: Beth Ellen White, wife of Darrell, of Avon Lake, Ohio, Lisa Hurst Bouffard, wife of Gene, of Huntington, VT, and Amy Spector, wife of Peter, of Colchester, VT; a brother, Jim Hurst, husband of Anne, of Middletown, PA; 7 beloved grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
