Robert E. Maier

Robert E. Maier, 83, of New Holland, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on May 20, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son late Otto H. and Emma K. (Eisenmann) Maier.

He was the husband of Phyllis A. (Palmerchuck) Maier, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Robert received his master’s degree from the former Millersville State College in education and he was employed as a teacher and School Administrator for Cecil County Public Schools, Melmark Pennsylvania, and schools in New Castle, DE. He was a member of Coatesville Bible Fellowship and enjoyed traveling, bird watching and Civil War history.

Robert is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons, Daniel P., husband of Karen E. Maier, and Timothy A., husband of Teresa L. Maier, and 9 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, his sister and two brothers.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S Kinzer Avenue, New Holland PA 17557 with Pastor Eric McAdams officiating. A Viewing will be held for one hour prior to the time of service in the chapel. A private interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
