Robert L. Thomas

Robert L. Thomas, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on March 31, 2022 after a short stay at Promedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lancaster.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late James H. and Viola (Thomas) Williams.

He was the loving husband of the late Charlotte M. (Lawrence) Thomas, with whom he shared twenty-three years of marriage until the time of her passing in 1999.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster. He was employed a furnace tender for J. Walter Miller Co. for nineteen years and Host Town as a dishwasher and stockroom manager for three years. He enjoyed watching the Phillies.

Robert is survived by his daughters; Rosezella wife of Timothy Mowery, Barbara wife of Melvin Bassor, Erthamae wife of Michael Thames and Ada Thomas, stepchildren; Jane Greiner, Fred Antes, Susan wife of Samuel Stoltzfus, Steven husband of Brenda Antes and Kathy McTootle. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, eighteen step great grandchildren, nine step great great grandchildren and a sister; Margaret Pompey.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by six siblings.

Services will be held private at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be held in Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery.
