Robert E. (Bob) Weller, Sr., 77, of Ephrata, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Hospice & Community Care Center, Mount Joy, PA.
Born in Earl Township on April 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Mamie Weller and Clyde Buzzard. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Lester) Weller, his second wife, Charlotte (Houck) Weller, and a sister, Sharon Weller.
Bob worked at New Holland Machine Company for 33 years, retiring in 1993.
He attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Denver, PA.
First and foremost, he loved God and his family. He was a fan of the Phillies and Eagles, and also enjoyed auto racing, with Bill Elliott and Kenny Brightbill being two of his favorite drivers.
Surviving are a companion, Jennie Johnston of Ephrata; three children: Robert E. Weller, Jr., and wife Rita, of Stuarts Draft, VA, Shari E. Weller, of Stuarts Draft, VA, and Steven L. Weller, and wife Kim, of New Holland; six grandchildren: Bryan, Stephanie, Beth, Brittany, Allison and Becca; one great grandchild, Geofrey; three brothers: Pete, John, and Frank; and four sisters, Myrtle Katherine “Toots”, Elsie, Doris, and Jackie.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Monday, August 3, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3 Denver Road, Denver, PA 17517. There will be no viewing. Friends may visit from 5 – 7 p.m.; the celebration service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17608-4125.
