Roger B. Grant

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roger B. Grant, 81, of Narvon, PA, on May 31, 2025, peacefully at his home. Roger was born in Philadelphia to his late parents, Earl and Leah (Van Dyke) Grant. His wife, Sally E. Grant, passed away on September 9, 2021.

He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School, where he met his wife Sally, whom he would spend the next 57 years in marriage. The couple raised their children Elaine and David in Upper Darby, before moving to Downingtown PA to raise their third child, Jason. Roger and Sally eventually moved to Narvon, PA where he would reside until his death.

A member of the US Air Force, Roger was honorably discharged in 1965. Following this, he pursued higher education at Temple University. He made a career working for the Federal Government as an auditor and bank examiner, primarily with the IRS, FDIC, and Office of Thrift Supervision before retiring in 2007.

Most in life Roger enjoyed sailing. He had several sailboats, but is pride and joy was his 34’ Island Packet that he sailed from Florida to the Chesapeake Bay. He had many adventures on the boat with family and friends and most enjoyed sailing to Annapolis. He was also an avid cyclist, model train and seashell collector, reader, and tinkerer; there was nothing he couldn’t repair or rebuild. His vacations to Mexico and skiing in Lake Placid brought him great joy. He was a beloved husband and father.

Roger is survived by his children, David B. Grant and his wife Caryn, of Downingtown, PA, and Jason A. Grant and his wife Kelly, of Delta, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Justin Henry, Brittany Wang, Caleb Henry, James Henry, Emma Grant, Chloe Grant, Nathan Grant, Andrew Grant and five great grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings, Phyllis Waters and Carol Henry.

In addition to his wife and parents, Roger was predeceased by his daughter, Elaine L. Henry and his brother, Bruce Grant.
