Ronald E. Eshelman

Ronald Eugene Eshelman, 72 of East Earl, passed away surrounded in love by his family on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Hospice Mount Joy.

Born in Ephrata he was the son of Isaac and Mary (Gable) Eshelman. He was married 40 years on Sept. 28 to Sharon (Hartranft) Eshelman.

Ron worked at Ready Mixed Concrete in Lancaster from 1963 until his retirement in 2011.

He was a former member of the Jay Cee’s and he also served as past President of the Fivepointville Fire Company. He enjoyed gardening and was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Braves fan. He also served for a time in the US Navy.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Stacy, married to Christopher Neiles of Mount Joy; two sons, Brent Eshelman of Lancaster, and Bradley Eshelman of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Collin, Blake, and Hudson; and four brothers and sisters, Helen Shimp of Ephrata, Roger Eshelman of Terre Hill, Hilda Fry of Reamstown, and Harry Eshelman of Denver.

Preceding him in death is a brother, Arthur Eshelman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1 at 10 am at St. John’s Center United Church of Christ, 432 Reading Road, East Earl with the Reverend Bradley Haws officiating. Interment will be in the Center Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9 – 10 am.
