Ronald Arthur Mccloud

Ronald A. “Ronnie” McCloud, 76, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, September, 29, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital.

He was married 53 years to Barbara R. “Bobbie” Sly McCloud. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Arthur McCloud and Carolyn Korns McCloud Kaminski.

Ronnie retired from the Richard Butler School in Butler, NJ where he had taught 6th, 7th, & 8th grade math for 32 years. Following his retirement and move to Lancaster, he worked at Tractor Supply, Randall’s Coins and was a driver for John Sauder Chevrolet.

Ronnie enjoyed antique cars and Corvettes and was the past president of the Model A Ford Club of NJ. He was also a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Walter P. Chrysler Club. Ronnie enjoyed music and was a member of the Bloomingdale Cornet Band and had been in over 300 parades.

Bobbie would like to thank Dr. Brian Calabrese, Melanie Rice, Janice McClune, and the girls in the Chemo Room at Penn State Lime Springs Outpatient Center for their unconditional love and support they have shown to both Ronnie and Bobbie through their cancer journeys. Also, a huge thank you to the nurses on 7 Lime at Lancaster General Hospital who were so kind and provided exceptional care to Ronnie the last few weeks.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie’s parents and his critters, their wonderful Shelties, Malamutes, cats, and rabbits who gave him such love and joy through the years.

Surviving besides his wife is a sister, Marlene wife of Rick Charles III of Leland, NC; nieces, Karen Nemzek and Judy Middleweek; a nephew, Tom Charles; several great nieces and nephews; a special friend Wayne Stern; and people Ronnie thought of as his extended family, Julia Roeser, John and Donna Coniglio, Randy and Melanie Stoltzfus and their sons, Clarke, Grant, and Bradley Stoltzfus.

Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. If desired, contributions in Ronnie’s memory may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
