New Holland, PA - Ronald Westcott, 79, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed into the presence of the Lord on January 22, 2026 at his home. Ron was born in Watertown NY, son of the late Norman C. and Eunice M. (Bovee) Westcott, in 1946.
He was educated in Watertown Schools, and a graduate of Jefferson Community College (Watertown, NY) AAS, Bradley University (Peoria, IL) BS in Accounting, and the University of Colorado (Boulder) MBA. He was employed by Chapin Watermatics, Inc., Watertown, for 35 years, retiring as Vice-President and Treasurer in 2006.
For many years, he was a member and active lay leader at Parkside Bible Church, Watertown. He also was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, and served as treasurer on the Board of Directors of Mars Hill Broadcasting Co., Syracuse, NY. After moving to New Holland, PA in 2009, he served as an Elder and Secretary of the Governing Board at Lancaster Alliance Church, and a mentor to children with CrossNet Ministries in New Holland.
When Ron was playing church as a young child, a dear friend explained that God truly hears our prayers, and led Ron to receive Jesus as his Savior. In his teenage years, Ron made his life mission to fully commit his life to serving the Lord, to become a Godly man, to be an encourager, and to impact his world through the church. His organizational and musical gifts became evident as he served as an elder and lay leader, worship leader, choir member, soloist, and male quartet member.
Ron’s desire to be a blessing and an instrument of peace was apparent to everyone he met. He often sought out young people and found great joy in encouraging them in numerous ways. He loved to entertain people, play games, give boat rides, go fishing and swimming, and attend Syracuse University football and basketball games.
Ron is survived by his wife, Mary (Chapin) Westcott, 4 children - Elizabeth Holtry (San Diego, CA), Eric (Jennifer) Westcott (Lancaster, PA), Stephanie (David) Stover (Herington, KS), Jeffrey (Cara) Westcott (Norwich, CT); 7 grandchildren – Patrick, Bailey, Barrett, Carlotta, Katherine, Emma, Matthew; 1 great grandson – Redmond, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all three of his siblings – Robert (Lancaster, PA) married to Kathryn, Arlene (Chicago, IL) married to the late Robert Clinger, and Paul (Jackson, TN) married to Marguerite.
Arrangements are with the Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland. Visitation will be at Lancaster Alliance Church on Friday, February 27 at 10:30 AM followed by a Memorial Service at Noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lancaster Alliance Church Capital Fund, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster PA 17601 or to CrossNet Ministries, 110 W. Franklin Street, New Holland PA 17557.
