Roy N. Herr

Roy N. Herr, 77, of New Holland, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care of Mt. Joy. He was the loving husband of Laverne M. (Martin) Herr, with whom he shared over 57 years of marriage.

Born in Earl Township, he was a son of the late Ivan B. and Mary (Nolt) Herr. Roy was a member of St. Stephen Reformed Church, a maintenance employee for Pennsylvania Scales of Leola for over 16 years, and owned Herr’s Mobile Home Park from 1973 to the present. Roy was a member of the Hobby Train Association who in his spare time enjoyed building street rods, music, playing guitar, visiting Florida, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived his son, Ricky M. Herr, husband of Patti (Graham), of New Holland, his daughter, Cheryl M. Dippner, wife of Nathan, Jr., of New Holland; 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Melvin Herr, and his sister Esther Good.
