Roy S. Weaver, 83, of 6247 Main St., Honey Brook, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care. His wife, Helen M. (Weaver) Weaver, preceded him in death on July 21, 2012.
Born in Honey Brook, he was the son of the late John B. and Esther (Shirk) Weaver.
He drove truck for over 50 years and at Martin Limestone for 45 years retiring in 1997.
A member of Grace and Truth Fellowship, Morgantown, he enjoyed bowling, volunteering at the Morgantown ReUzit Shoppe, baking, cooking, serving in the kitchen at many functions, working at the food pantry in Morgantown, Travelogues, bus tours, Blue Grass Gospel music, and in his younger years, playing softball.
Surviving are two children: Roland married to Beulah (Stoltzfus) Weaver, Hibbing, MN and Linda married to Donald Good, Honey Brook; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a brother Robert married to Margaret (Schmehl) Weaver, Morgantown.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Martin and four siblings: Earl Weaver, Evelyn Good, Henry Weaver and Amos Weaver.
His funeral will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main St., Morgantown with Pastor Lance Eisele officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice & Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or the Morgantown ReUzit Shoppe, 2769 Main St., Morgantown, PA 19543. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
