Roy H. Schnupp

Roy H. Schnupp, Sr., 91, of Fairmount Homes, formerly of 180 Weidmansville Rd., Ephrata, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at Fairmount Homes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha W. (Groff) Schnupp in 1995.

Born in Intercourse, he was the son of the late Howard and Hettie A. (Hollinger) Schnupp.

Roy had been a farmer, worked at Hollinger’s Market in Lincoln, owned and operated the Farm Produce Market at Root’s Auction as well as doing maintenance work for Root’s.

He was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church. He enjoyed poetry, plants and gardening.

Surviving are two children: Mary Jane Schnupp, Lebanon; and Alvin J. Schnupp, San Luis Obispo, CA; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons: Roy Schnupp, Jr. married to Lois (Kauffman) Schnupp of Lititz, Carl E. married to Joyce (Garber) Schnupp of Lititz, and John R. husband of Edith (Martin) Schnupp and four siblings: Anna Sensenig, Elmer Schnupp, Morris Schnupp, and Kathryn Schnupp.

His funeral will be held on Friday, August 2 at 10 a.m. at the Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Ephrata. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 – 10 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
