Russell Corell Brookmyer

Russell Corell Brookmyer, 92, of 1064 Sunset Ave, Blue Ball, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg.

Born in Neffsville, he was the son of the late Rufus L. and Anna Mary (Binkley) Brookmyer. He was married 58 years on Sept. 5 to Anna Mae (Shepler) Brookmyer of Mechanicsburg.

Russell worked at Vallorbs Jewell Co. in Bird-in-Hand and after many years retired as a machinist at Sensenig Propeller in Lititz. After his retirement he worked as a bank messenger.

He was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ and served in the US Air Corps during WWII.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Bryon, married to Heather Brookmyer of Mechanicsburg; and two grandchildren, Ian and Emily Brookmyer.

Preceding him in death is a brother, Lloyd Brookmyer; and three sisters, Bernice Watts, Marie Brookmyer, and Naomi Whitcraft.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 11 at Noon at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend David Goode officiating. Interment will be in the Kimmerling’s Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday at the Funeral Home from 11 am until the time of the service.
