Ruth M. Bair

Ruth M. Bair, 91 of 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, formerly of New Holland, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Fairmount Homes after a brief illness.

Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ida (DeLong) Shoemaker. Her husband, Frank I. Bair, died June 26, 1994. Ruth was a homemaker most of her life but worked for a short time at the former New Holland Machine Co. and also at Rubinson's Department Store in New Holland.

She was an active member of the New Holland Methodist Church and enjoyed knitting and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is a daughter, Sandra G., married to Malcolm Reider, Jr. of Mohnton; a son, Patrick H., married to Beryl Kuhr Bair of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Margie Shoemaker of Laureldale.

Preceding her in death are three brothers, Irvin, Willard, and Stuart Shoemaker.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 11 am at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in the Evangelical United Methodist Cemetery. Viewing will be on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 10-11 am.
