Ruth E. Diem

Ruth E. Diem, 96, formerly of Old Philadelphia Pike, Kinzers, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital. Her husband Lester N. Diem died in 1977.

Born in Salisbury Twp., she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Matilda (Means) Ream.

She attended Pequea Presbyterian Church, Cambridge Rd., Gap.

Ruth had been a seamstress for 34 years at various sewing factories, including SLC Fashions, Blue Ball. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and gardening.

She is survived by a son Ronald L., married to Deborah Diem, Kinzers, two grandchildren: Ronald Diem, Jr. and Tammy Diem Stoltzfus; a step-granddaughter Lori Styer; five great grandchildren: Alison, Chelsy, and Lyla Stoltzfus and Robert Paul and Matthew Hunter Diem and a brother, Robert Ream, Denver.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in Pequea Presbyterian Cemetery.
