Ruth Edith Ford, 92, of New Holland, formerly of Coatesville and Upper Darby, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Garden Spot Village.


Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Taylor) Kendall. She was married 73 years on September 1 to Louis Charles Ford.


Ruth was a 1944 graduate of Kensington High School for Girls. She worked many years as an Administrative Assistant at Crossroads Community Church in Upper Darby and Manoa Community Church in Havertown.


She was a former member of Crossroads Community Church where she was active in their women’s ministry and a current member at St. Stephen Reformed Church in New Holland. She was also active in community programs and enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles and reading.


Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Louis W., married to Kathy Ford of Honey Brook, Nancy L. Gore of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Mark K., married to Anne Ford of Yulee, FL; four grandchildren, Kimberly Rawding, Michael Ford, Bryan Ford, and Danielle Stubits; a great grandson, Cooper Stubits; and a brother, William Kendall of Mesa, AZ.


Preceding her in death is a grandson, Marshall Fleming, Jr.; and a sister, Elsie Roberts.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 11 am at St. Stephen Reformed Church, 249 E. Main St., New Holland. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am.
