Ruth Ann Horning, 83, of Brecknock Township passed peacefully at her home on Tuesday March 3, 2026, with family by her side.

Ruth Ann was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Anna Mary (Groff) Wise. She was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was wife of the late Harvey W. Horning Jr. with whom she shared 58 years of marriage until the time of his passing in 2021.

Surviving her are her children: Darlene married to Steven McCosby, Clifford married to Gina (Brubacker, Naumann), C. Nelson married to Cynthia (Shirk), Philip married to Kelly (Brensinger), and Chrystle married to Kevin Swatski, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Paul E. Wise (Brenda), Sara J. Moyer (Harold), Doris J. Kardos (Glenn), James L. Wise (Linda) and a sister-in-law Mary Ann Wise.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Leon R. Wise, a sister Esther Mae Wise, a daughter-in-law, Lisa (Johnston) Horning (Clifford) and a great-grandchild Luke McKinney.

Ruth Ann enjoyed being a homemaker, seamstress, gardener and spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of Gehman Mennonite Church.

She loved traveling and spending time at the cabin with family and friends and winter trips to Florida. She will be forever loved and missed by her family.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
