Ruth A. Kapp

Ruth A. (Patches) Kapp, 91, of New Holland, passed away on November 2, 2023 after a short stay in Maple Farm Nursing Center.

Born in South Lebanon Township, she was the daughter of the late Earl D. and Lizzie K. (Bomberger) Patches.

She was the loving wife of the late Charles B. Kapp, with whom she married on June 17, 1950 and shared sixty-four years of marriage.

She was a graduate of Palmyra High School, Class of 1950 and a member of St. Stephen Reformed Church, where she participated in the choir for fifty years and was a past Deacon and Elder. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and in previous years enjoyed traveling to Europe with friends and to the family cabin in Sullivan County.

Ruth is survived by her children; Michael C. husband of Bonnie L. Kapp and Lois J. wife of Douglas L. Snader, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way. Also surviving are her brothers; Dennis E. husband of Sharon Patches and Dale R. husband of Abby Patches.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brothers; Donald L. husband of Dana Patches and Elsie M. wife of Sterling Kleinfelter.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Reformed Church, 249 E Main Street, New Holland PA 17557 with Rev. Dr. Andrew J. DiNardo officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to St. Stephen Reformed Church at the address listed above.
