Ruth Z. Martin

Ruth Z. Martin, 87, of 192 Reading Rd., East Earl, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at her home. Her husband of 60 years, Ivan W. Martin, survives.

Born in Bowmansville, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Lydia (Musser) Zimmerman.

Early in her life, Ruth worked as a seamstress in a sewing factory, but spent most of her years as a homemaker. She was a member of Goodville Mennonite Church and enjoyed quilting and reading.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children: Lester Z. married to Janet (Nolt) Martin, Morgantown; Wilmer Z. married to Joyce (Kauffman) Martin, Reading; Nelson Z. Martin, at home; Janice Z. Martin, Landisville; Diane Z. married to Grant Price, Pennsburg; and two grandchildren: Julie married to Todd Weber and Chad married to Michelle (Ringler) Martin.

She was preceded in death by three siblings: John and George Zimmerman and Verna Shirk.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Goodville Mennonite Church with Pastors Bruce Sauder and Kelly Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 -2 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
