Ruth G. Sensenig, 95, of New Holland, formerly of Blue Ball, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Brecknock Twp., she was the daughter of the late Peter S. and Lizzie (Gehman) Martin. Her husband, Paul W. Sensenig, died Aug. 30, 1983.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church where she was active in the sewing circle and taught Sunday school for many years.
She enjoyed quilting for the Mennonite Central Committee Material Resource Center, flower gardening, and reading.
Surviving are four children, Raymond M., married to Esther Mae (Sauder) Sensenig of New Holland, Lena M. Yates of Ashville, NC, Melvin M. Sensenig of Ephrata, and Ruth M., married to LeRoy S. Horst of Bowmansville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Martin of New Holland, and Wayne, married to Mary (Sensening) Martin of Ephrata.
Preceding her in death are three brothers, Clyde, Edwin, and Joseph Martin; and two sisters, Anna Martin and Irene Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 5 at 3 pm at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl with the Reverend Larry Weber, Chaplain Chester Yoder, and the former Bishop C. Kenneth Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 2-4 at the Garden Spot Village Garden Towers, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland and on Sunday, 2-3 pm at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
