Ruth W. Bowman

Ruth W. Bowman, 90, formerly of Denver, a resident of Fairmount Homes, passed away on Wedneday, September 3, 2025.

She was married 69 years to E. Clair Bowman. Born in Denver, PA she was the daughter of the late Allen G. and Stella Weber Musser.

Ruth was a longtime member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church where she had been involved with the sewing circle. She was employed as a seamstress and was well known for the quilt tops she made. Her interests included genealogy, gardening, reading, puzzles and interacting with her family.

Surviving besides her husband are three children, Linda J. wife of Scott Hoffman of Mt. Joy, Sharon J. wife of Charles “Tom” Stephens, Sr. of Ephrata, and Ron C. husband of Sarah B. (Carroll) Bowman of Denver; four grandchildren, Charles T. Stephens, Jr, Christopher T. husband of Whitney Stephens, Elizabeth A. Bowman and Evan R. Bowman; two great grandchildren; and sisters, Rachel Gingrich of Mercersburg, Alice Sauder of Carlisle, and Edith wife of Conrad Graybill of New Holland.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Fairmount Home for their wonderful support and care for Ruth and as well as the Ephrata Cancer Center for their team who cared for her so well from her diagnosis to present.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, at 11:00 A.M. at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, PA. The family will greet friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Bowmansville Mennonite Church.
