Ruth G. Weaver

Ruth G. Weaver, 84, of New Holland, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at her home of natural causes.

Born in Voganville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth (Getz) Wise. Her husband, John H. Weaver, died Dec. 2, 1996.

Ruth worked as an egg candler for the former Victor F. Weaver Poultry in New Holland.

She enjoyed sitting on her porch swing and telling stories of her days on the farm along with flower gardening and antiquing.

Surviving are five sons, Eugene Weaver and his fiancée, Terry Blodis of Ephrata, John H., Jr., married to Linda Weaver of Schaefferstown, Richard, married to Catherine Weaver of Leola, Kenneth Weaver of New Holland, and Gerald Weaver of Leola; a daughter, Linda Weaver of New Holland; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four brothers and sisters, Mildred Frederick of Denver, Alvin Wise of Stevens, Joanne Martin of East Petersburg, and Carl Wise of Ephrata.

Preceding her in death is a son, David Weaver; two sisters, Pauline White, and Esther Wise; and three brothers, Henry, Jr., Paul, and Robert Wise.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 27 at 10 am at Weaverland Mennonite Church, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl with the Reverend Brian Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive guests at the Church on Monday from 9 – 10 am.
