S. Joanne Orbin

Joanne (Burdine) Orbin, 90, of New Holland, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away on August 13, 2024 as a resident of Garden Spot Village.

Born in Sharon, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Thelma (Hendrix) Burdine.

She was the wife of the late Richard G. Orbin, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage until his passing in 2014.

She had a master’s degree in teaching and was employed by the Sharpsville School District as an elementary teacher. She was a former member of Transfer Baptist Church and a member of the Bundle Babies Ministry. She and her husband were Meals on Wheels volunteers in the Sharpsville area.

Joanne is survived by her daughters, Jaime, wife of John M. Gould of New Holland and Lisa O. , wife of John A. Boecker of Cape May, NJ, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Joanne will be interred in West Side Cemetery, Sharpsville PA at the convenience of the family.

Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Joanne’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster, PA.
