Sadie G. Weaver

Sadie G. Weaver, 88, of East Earl, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her home.

Born in Brecknock Twp., she was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Lavina (Good) Witmer. Her husband, Lawrence M. Weaver, died in 2004.

Sadie was a homemaker most of her life but later worked as a clerk at Hagy’s Market and at Shirlee Manufacturing.

Sadie was a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, served as President of the Fivepointville Fire Co. Aux. for 19 years, volunteered at the Fivepointville Ambulance for 10 years, and a quilt for each of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling west and into Canada.

Surviving are three sons, Warren R., married to Sharon (Weaver) Weaver of East Earl, Jay L., married to Naomi (Leaman) Weaver of Bowmansville, and Tommy D., married to Joyce (Reese) Weaver of Taneyville, MO; two daughters, L. Fern, married to Adin Leinbach of Narvon, and Velma J. Weaver of East Earl; 20 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann (Messner) Rissler Weaver of Denver.

Preceding her in death is a son, Glen H. Weaver and his first wife, Betty (Rutt) Weaver. Sadie was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8 at 11 am at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, with the Reverend Larry Weber, Kenneth Witmer, nephew of Sadie, and the Reverend Duane Ringler officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 6-8 pm and on Monday from 10-11 am at the Church.
