Sadie E. Weller

Sadie E. Weller, 93, of New Holland, formerly of Beartown, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital of natural causes.

Born in Narvon, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Woodward) Devine. Her husband of 60 years, Paul R. Weller, died Jan. 3, 2007.

Sadie was a homemaker and a member of Bridgeville Evangelical Congregational Church. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, watching game shows, playing BINGO, and playing with the house cats, Priscilla and Tigger.

Surviving is a daughter, Barbara, married to William King of New Holland; a grandson, Paul Prino of New Orleans, LA; a niece Nancy Hillard of New Holland; along with many friends and family that knew her as “Nanny.”

Preceding her in death are five brothers and sisters, Violet Hurst, Walter Devine, Martha Devine, Thomas Devine, and Betty Houck.

Funerals services will be held on Tuesday, January 20 at 2 PM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with the Reverend Phil Walck and the Reverend Kenneth Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeville E.C. Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 1-2 PM at the Funeral Home.
