Samuel M. Martin

Samuel M. Martin, 90, of Ephrata, died Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Fairmount Homes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha M. (Nolt) Martin, in 2019.


Born on March 25, 1934 in East Earl, he was the son of the late Samuel Z. and Hettie (Musser) Martin.


He was a dairy farmer and a member of Pequea Mennonite Church.


Surviving are five children: Charlotte married to Elvin Wenger, Ephrata, Debra married to Paul Zimmerman, Ephrata, Daryl married to Marian Martin, Gap, Gladys married to Glen Hurst, Narvon, S. Myron married to Diane Martin, Olar, SC, 23 grandchildren and 91 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by seven siblings: Paul Martin, Alvin Martin, Lydia Martin, Margaret Hoover, Minnie Martin, Sarah Nolt and Mary Martin.


His funeral will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Pequea Mennonite Church with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Paul Newswanger, Loren Nolt and Marlin Zimmerman officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements.
