Sandra J. Powell

Sandra J. Powell, 64, of 5816 Wertztown Rd., Narvon, died Monday June 3 at Hospice & Community Care – Mt. Joy. She was married for almost 48 years to her soul mate, William A. Powell, Sr., who survives.

Sandy was born in Beartown, PA to Arthur and Cora (Frantz) Weiler. She then moved to Downingtown and attended high school there. She worked for Acme Markets for 14 years before retiring.

She loved to sit on her back porch and watch the birds, especially the hummingbirds. Sandy loved to play Bingo, Parcheesi and Yahtzee with her aunts.

Sandy was an avid sweepstaker and had won many trips and hundreds of other prizes including two Super bowl trips.

In addition to her husband, she will be lovingly missed by her two children: William Jr. married to Maggie Porell, Durham, NC and Kimberly married to Richard Hallman, Jr., Narvon and three siblings: Carol Harple, Arthur Weiler, Jr., and Sherri Pfitzenmeyer.

Her funeral will be held at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland on Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m. with Pastor Carl Griffin officiating.
