Sara L. Hainley, 67, of New Holland, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at Ephrata Manor after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth (Burkholder) Buffenmyer. She would have been married 49 years on Oct. 17 to Norman Hainley.
Sara worked for 17 years, retiring in 2012, at the former Flower and Craft Warehouse in Blue Ball.
She was a member of Ranck’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, along with going to the beach, and loved flowers.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Amber, married to Timothy Lyon of Cumming, GA, and Heather, married to Kevin Martin of New Holland; five grandchildren, Hannah and Cooper Lyon, Phoebe, Aaliyah and Grant Martin; and five brothers and sisters, Barbara Haws of Ephrata, Jeanne, married to Jere Heft of Bowmansville, Glenn, married to Almanara Buffenmyer of Ephrata, Fred Buffenmyer of Ephrata, and Mary Lou, married to Norman Jones of Ephrata.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 10 at 10 am at Ranck’s United Methodist Church, 700 Ranck Road, New Holland with the Reverend Kevin Readman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and on Friday from 9 – 10 am at the Church.
