Sarah Z. Stoltzfus, 94, of Elverson, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Fairmount Homes.
Born in Supplee, Honey Brook Twp., she was the daughter of the late John P. and Annie B. (Zook) Stoltzfus, and the wife of Christian L. Stoltzfus.
Sarah was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Christian Fellowship where she was involved in the sewing circle. She was an avid quilter, and made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren as well as several hundred others, most if which we're donated to Mennonite Central Committee, Conestoga Christian School, and Lancaster Mennonite School. She also enjoyed gardening and hospitality.
Surviving are nine children, Monroe Z., (Jane Shopf) Stoltzfus of Akron, John W., (Edwina Gibson) Stoltzfus of Narvon, Martha, (James R.) Thomas of Lancaster, Annie B., (David) Donaldson of South Bank, British Columbia, Canada, Lydia Mae., (Barry) Baker of Youngstown, FL, Carl, (Hilda King) Stoltzfus of Elverson, Stephen R., (Lorrie High) Stoltzfus of Lancaster, Grace S., (Eric) Miller of Mt. Joy, and Calvin D., (Beverly Adams) Stoltzfus of Frisco, TX; 28 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; and a brother, Amos Stoltzfus of Kennedyville, MD.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Scott Thomas and Alicia Miller; and seven brothers and sisters, Jemima Lapp, Melinda Stoltzfus, Benuel Z. Stoltzfus, Annie Kauffman, John Z. Stoltzfus, Mary Stoltzfus, and Daniel Z. Stoltzfus.
Viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 16 from 6-8 pm at Fairmount Homes, Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, and also on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 6-8 pm at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, Elverson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at 10 AM at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 2286 Hopewell Road, Elverson with the Reverend Mark Kraybill and the Reverend Duane Britton officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Elverson.
