Shaun Wesley Laird passed away on July 3, 2026 at the age of 58, after gracefully handling the hardship of ALS. He was born on February 11, 1968, in DuBois, PA, and grew up in the city of Hazen, PA.

Shaun graduated from Brookville Area High School in 1986 and served in the United States Air Force from 1991–1999, including a deployment in Korea. For his service, he was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal and Humanitarian Service Medal, among others. Afterward, Shaun returned to Pennsylvania and built a successful career as a helicopter mechanic to provide for his family.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Michaela Sheetz and Jody Laird. Shaun is survived by his children, Ryan Shaun (Erin) and Keirra Nicole; his mother, Ida Barrett; his siblings Bob (Lori), Blaine (Tammy), and Launi; as well as his dearly loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Shaun will be remembered for his quiet nature, helpful and generous spirit, adoration for his dog Holly, and devotion to his children and family. He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Clarion County Park Community Center on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 10:30am with a local reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shaun’s memory to Pet Pantry of Lancaster County and/or the ALS Association.
