Shirley M. Eitnier

Shirley M. “Pinky” Eitnier, 77, of 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, died Friday, October 28, 2011 at Tell Hai Retirement Community. Born in Terre Hill, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Clara (Ziemer) Burkhart. Her husband, Richard Eitnier, died Sept. 7, 2001. Pinky retired in 2007 from Bird-in-Hand Bakery. She was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ since 1954 where she served as a former Sunday school teacher and chairperson on the funeral committee. She also served as chairperson for the New Holland Farm Show committee, was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader and enjoyed camping, bowling, and bird watching. Surviving are two daughters, Sandy L., married to Tim Houck of San Diego, CA, and Diane L., married to Anthony Stoltzfus of New Holland; seven grandchildren, Alethea, Zachary, Miranda, and Tabitha Stoltzfus, Maia, Sophie, and Nathaniel Houck; two sisters, LaVerne Zell of Terre Hill, and Mary Ann, married to John Hartranft of New Holland. Preceding her in death are three brothers, Paul, Raymond, and Harold Burkhart. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 pm at St. Stephen UCC, 249 E. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend Ann T. Few officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Viewing will be held on Fri. from 4-5 pm at the Church.
