Shirley A. Johnson

Shirley A. Johnson, 73, of New Holland died Friday, February 16, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care.

Born in Chester County, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Skowood) Skowood.

She retired from food service, working as a cook at various places.

She attended Petra Church and enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She also kept busy sewing and building furniture for her home.

Surviving are five children: Ronald Rhoades, Elverson; Dawn married to Stephen Juhas, Modena; Karen Johnson fiancée of Aaron Griffy, Modena; Jason married to Lisa Johnson, Modena and Amanda Johnson Taylor married to Aaron Taylor, New Holland, 11 grandchildren five great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Rob Skowood, Ken Skowood, Don Skowood, Linda Leaman, Linda Brown.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Petra Church, 565 Airport Rd., New Holland. The family will greet friends from 6 – 7 p.m. at the church.
