Stephen G. Farnsworth, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at the age of 81 in New Holland. Born in Grand Island, NE, to the late Gaylord R. and Mary Jean (Braun) Farnsworth, Stephen's life was marked by a deep commitment to his family and community.
Stephen's career with Case New Holland reflected his strong work ethic, highlighted by his involvement with their NASCAR sponsorship. Beyond his professional life, Stephen was a man of faith and service. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland, where he served on the church council. His generous spirit led him to volunteer with Homes of Hope, now named Pathways to Housing, where he tirelessly advocated for those in need.
Stephen's greatest joy was spending time with his family. Whether it was a camping trip surrounded by loved ones or simply being present in their lives, Stephen cherished every moment. He brought laughter to those around him and had a steadfast faith in the inherent goodness of people. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who dedicated much of his younger years to coaching his children's baseball, hockey, and soccer teams. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and kindness.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Sharol (Roskamp) Farnsworth. He will be deeply missed by his children: Stephen Farnsworth, Jr. and his wife Nina, of Brooklyn, NY; Louis Farnsworth and his wife Beatrice, of Miami, FL; Mark Farnsworth and his wife Fabiola, of Brooklyn, NY; Katie Epler and her husband Chris, of Lititz, PA; Christopher Farnsworth and his wife Mindy, of Haleiwa, HI; Sarah Koch and her husband Matthew, of East Earl, PA; and Andrew Farnsworth and his wife Adrienne, of Allentown, PA. His nine grandchildren brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sisters: Patricia Enroth; Michelle Smith and her husband Tom; Mary Buechler and her husband Jerry, all of Minneapolis, MN; and Elizabeth Cooper, of San Francisco, CA.
A viewing will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 East Main Street, New Holland, PA, on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 AM followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Charles H. Oberkehr.
To honor Stephen's memory, the family kindly suggests donations to the Pathways to Housing (elancocross.org) or floral tributes.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Groff-High-Eckenroth Funeral Home, New Holland.
