Stephen D. Steckel

Stephen D. Steckel, 70, of New Holland returned home to the Lord on August 14, 2023.

He was the loving husband of Yvette M. (Maisonet) Steckel for 35 years.

Steve was born in Allentown, PA, the son of the late Emma (Merkel) and Charles Steckel.

He attended St. Francis School, Central Catholic High and Glouster County Community College. Known as “Mr. Bassman”, Steve was a member of several music groups and volunteered his musical talents at his church, Our Lady of Lourdes in New Holland, where he attended for over twenty years.

Survivors: wife, children, Alma I. Campbell, Luis A. Rodriguez, Sandra M. Aviles, Vashti I. Steckel and Kristen S. Steckel; thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers; John (Nancy) of South Carolina, Vincent (Maryland), sisters; Grace, Peg (Steve) Roth, Regina (Dave) Hausman all of Allentown, Agnes (Jim) Toolan of Macungie, Kitty (John) Kovacs of West Chester.

Predeceased by brothers; Charles, Joseph and Francis (Duke) and sister; Emma Mary.

A memorial service will be posted at a later date.

Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
