Stewart E. Meck

Stewart E. Meck, 83, of Gill Road, Mohnton, PA, died early Monday, July 22, 2013, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading. He was pre-deceased by his wife Esther M. (Eager) Meck.

Born in Mohnton, Berks County, he was the son of the late Stewart Meck and Edith Schweitzer.

Stewart was a mechanic at Adamstown Equipment, retiring after 33 years.

He was a member of Allegheny Lutheran Church.

He was a lifetime member of Brecknock Twp. Fire Co., Mohnton, and enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He had served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years aboard the USS Lake Champlain.

Surviving are his sons, Bruce, married to Margaret, and Brian, married to Karen, both of Mohnton, and Brett Meck of Stevens, a daughter Cassandra, married to David Trostle, Mohnton, five grandchildren, a half brother Donald, and two half sisters, Mary, and Susan .

Services will be held at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, PA, on Friday, July 26, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Center Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service. If desired, monitory donations may be sent to Brecknock Twp.
