Sylvia W. Martin

Sylvia W. Martin, 92, of New Holland, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Martin in 2002.

Born in Terre Hill, she was the daughter of the late David and Florence (Scheaffer) Weaver.

Sylvia worked as a bookkeeper for Carlos R. Leffler, Inc. for 28 years.

She was a devoted member of St. Stephen Reformed Church. Her love of flowers and gardening led her to become a member of the New Holland Garden Club. She also enjoyed cooking and was concerned for the well-being of children.

Surviving are two sons: Richard S. married to Christine (Bensinger) Martin, East Earl and Douglas D. Martin, New Holland; two grandchildren: Stacy and Brandon Martin; and two great-grandchildren: Elliot and Brady Martin.

She was preceded in death by a sister Betty Benner and a brother Carl Weaver.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Reformed Church, 249 E. Main St., New Holland, PA 17557 with Rev. Dr. Timothy Witmer and Pastoral Assistant Nathaniel Stamper officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 – 11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to St. Stephen Reformed Church, address above.
