Rev. Ronald E. Peirson, 75, of Jacobus, formerly of Hanover, passed away at 9:11 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at York Hospital.
Ronald was born May 21, 1936 in Harrisburg, Pa. and was the son of the late Edward and Geraldine (Snyder) Peirson.
He graduated from John Harris High School in 1954, Gettysburg College in 1958 and Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary in 1962. He did clinical pastoral education at Norwich State Hospital in Norwich, CT, Career Development Center in Lancaster and his 3rd year Seminary Internship was at Evangelical Church of Resurrection in Caracas, Venezuela. Ronald retired as a Lutheran Pastor in 2001 having served at St. John Lutheran Church in Maytown, Lancaster County, from 1962 to 1973, Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland, Lancaster County, from 1974 to 1984, St. Mark Lutheran Church in Hanover, York County, from 1985 to 1989 and St. John Lutheran Church, Stewartstown, York County, from 1990 to 2001. In 1990 Ronald established the R. E. Peirson Associates, a business consulting company. Ronald had many interests including, collies, Tennessee Walking horses and rose gardening but nothing was more important to him than his family, friends, talking and having a good time.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Edward Peirson of San Diego, CA; his daughter, Irene Dineen and her husband, Kevin of Glenview, IL; his four grandchildren, Nicole, Jacqueline, Michael and Luke; and his two brothers, Kenneth Peirson and his wife, Susan of Harrisburg, and Arthur Peirson and his wife, Maxine of Harrisburg.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, Pa. A service of Celebration will begin at High Noon Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 East Market Street, York. Officiating at the service will be his pastors, the Rev. David L. Ritterpusch and Rev. Brenda M. Ritterpusch. The Groff-High Funeral Home of New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
