Thelma H. Burkholder

Thelma H. Burkholder, 62, of East Earl, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. Her husband of 41 years, Harold R. Burkholder, survives.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lydia Jane (Martin) Hurst.

A loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Thelma's family was her passion. Thelma was last employed as a dietary aid at Garden Spot Village and was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church. Her kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children and 16 grandchildren: Chad married to Krystal Burkholder and their children, Timothy, Hans, Tanner, Sophia, Chloe; Eric married to Sharon Burkholder and their children, Victoria, Taylor, Madalyn, Brielle; Duane married to Sandra Burkholder and their children, Lincoln, Diesel, Colston, Finnley; Staci married to Keldon Martin and their children, Hollie, Dakoda, Weston; three sisters and six brothers.

She was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Tyler, Grace and Roman.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Ephrata (Martindale). The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Wellspan Ephrata Cancer Center Patient Help Fund, 460 N.
