Thelma J. Messner

Thelma J. Messner, 78, of East Earl, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Paul “Pete” A. Messner, whom preceded her in death in 2013.

Born in East Earl, she was a daughter of the late Charles N. and Edith (Arment) Bowman.

Thelma was a member of Mt. Culmen E. C. Church and worked as a bus driver. In her spare time she enjoyed experiencing all life had to offer and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Thelma is survived by 4 children: Kevin E. Messner, husband of Nancy (Welsh), of Sarasota, FL, Jere L. Messner, husband of Deb (Riggins), of East Earl, Tracy Merschen, wife of Doug, of Leola, and Shannon Messner of Akron, PA; 3 sisters: Pauline Good, wife of Ron, of Bowmansville, Vera Kunkle, wife of Al, of East Earl, and Helen Horst, wife of Ira, of New Holland; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Culmen E. C. Church with Rev. Ken Hoffer officiating.
