IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theodore Stanley
Lyon
April 14, 1945 – December 22, 2025
Theodore S. Lyon, age 80, passed away on December 22, 2025, in Narvon, Pennsylvania. Born on April 14, 1945, in Olean, New York, Ted was the son of Stanley Lyon and Betty Danforth Lyon of Sweden Valley, PA.
Ted dedicated much of his professional life to New Holland (CNH), where he served as Human Resources Professional for 28 years. His leadership and commitment to fostering a supportive workplace left a lasting impression on all levels of the organization. Ted is fondly remembered by many people for being the person who hired them, giving them their start in the industry. Following his retirement from New Holland, Ted continued to share his expertise as a Senior Consultant at Career Concepts. His practical approach to problem-solving and deep understanding of people earned him the respect and admiration of those he worked with – he was a true “people person” who knew no stranger.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ted was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the Jaycees of New Holland, where he held various offices and contributed significantly to local initiatives. His passion for mentorship extended into youth sports as well. Ted spent many years coaching Youth football and later held various leadership positions with the Garden Spot Youth Sports Association. He was also instrumental in the formation of the All-Sports Booster Club at Garden Spot High School. His influence endured long after the games ended; many young men continued to affectionately call him “Coach”.
Ted is survived by his partner Nancy Stover of Narvon, PA; his children: Theodore S. Lyon Jr. (Fran) of Irmo, SC; Timothy Paul Lyon (Amber) of Panama City Beach, FL; Tracie Michelle Lyon of Cumming, GA; Jeffrey Houck; and Candy Coy of Narvon, PA. He is also survived by his first wife Joan Martin, the mother of Ted Jr., Tim, and Tracie, second wife Joan Sloyer and siblings Tom Lyon (Elise) of Phoenix AZ, Terry Lyon (Cathy) of Seminole FL, Teresa Pine of Yardley PA, and Tony Maclay (Doug) of Stroudsburg PA
Ted’s legacy is one marked by dedication to his family, his friends, his career, and his community. His absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him.
May his memory bring comfort to those whose lives he touched.
